Can I put a catfish in my water garden? I have goldfish & water plants in the pond.?

- I wouldn't see why not, just be sure there is enough algae in the pond to feed it.
- Goldfish with goldfish only. Unless you want one really fat catfish. Catfish will eventually eat the goldfish. I wouldn't if I were you. Get some Koi instead.
- You can keep catfish in a water garden, but you should check the species for their ideal living conditions, temperature, pH etc. They most likely cannot stay in a pond year round unless you are in a very warm climate.
- i have never tried this but have had several friends that have. i don't see why not except that they will eat the roe and tiny fish that seem to congregate on the bottom. i would get some koi or some shubunkins, these are beautiful and easy to care for and will live thu the winter - even under 4 inches of ice.
- I would not recomend tropical catfish in an outside pond. They will not be able to winter, nor grow large enough for your fish. Bulls, blues, small channels sure. I keep bulls and a few albino's I caught in my ponds. They can survive thru wintering months. Again, no tropicals. Only catfish found in your local waterways.
