- water your plants when they start to droop/ water the hedge if it is warm weather and dry. feed every two weeks . good luck. good question,
- so much depends on what types of plants, the soil conditions in the area, the area itself, (Texas needs more water than North Dakota) and the weather. if it is hot they will want more water less. a good rule of thumb is every third day.( i don't think you have vegetables just flowers.) look at the plants. do they look dry and wilted? and yes too much water can kill them but we are talking about flooding the garden daily. the roots of a lot of plants are also responsible for gas exchange. they could literally drown.
- at least twice a week, if you water too much, they cud die, they can drown
- Leaves can turn yellow from too much water, and shrivel up from too little water. Try to water them when the sun is out, it cools em off and helps them grow.
- well most things it usually needs to be watered once a week but it all depends on how much u give it, the weather, if it's to hot then u should give it more water more often. or u could wait till it starts to droop but I don't htink that's pretty. get one of those thermomiters they tell u when the soil is to wet or to dry. well if it's in the middle ur good to go.. :-) my grammys got one they are pretty neat
- YOU SHOULD WATER YOUR PLANTS IN THE EVEVING, NO MORE THAN 5 MINUTES, THAT WAY, YOU WON'T SATURATE THE PLANTS AND SOIL WITH WATER. IN THE EVENING IS BETTER, BECAUSE IT WILL GIVE YOUR PLANTS TIME TO ABSORB THE WATER INSTEAD OF WATER EVAPORATING IN THE AIR LIKE WHEN YOU DO IT DURING THE DAY
- Water early in the morning, but slowly so as to soak in deeper. Too much too fast makes surface roots that you don't want. Deep watering gives deep roots. In the morning you water and the plant has all day to dry off. Most plants don't like to stand in water all night. Try 3 mornings a week for 15 minutes and adjust the time as needed.
- Deep watering creates deep rooting of shrubs and trees. A drip system is good for this it gives a small amount of water over a long period. You cannot apply watering rates on a so many days rate. If the weather is hot they may need water every three days if its cool they may need a water every week or less. Don't water plants at night unless by dripper as the water laying on the leaves plus the cool air can set some plants up for fungal diseases. The easiest and best method of growing plants is not to let them dry out. Some say if a plant wilts then growth is retarded. Till you get a good idea of your plants needs check each day by putting your finger in the soil if your finger is damp don't water if the soil is dry water. Don't overwater it will rot them off. After a while you will find you will fall into a water routine. Bulbs do not like to be overwatered they rot easily only water as required. If you mulch your garden well with hay for annuals, bulbs and small plants and chip etc for shrubs and trees they will remain at a more constant moisture level which is good for consistent growth.
