Names of some black and orange flowers?
Hi everyone, I know I can look this up for myself, but I rarely ask a question so I thought this is the perfect opportunity. I'm planning a garden bed of only black and orange flowers to represent my Alma Mater's colors. So, if you would be kind enough to name all the black and orange flowers or plants that you can think of it will give me a head start for next season. Thanks so much. Oh, my bad, Sorry. I'm in zone 7. I can't believe I forgot to mention that. Also, when I say Black and Orange, I'm really looking for Black or Orange, but if there are flowers with black and orange that would be awesome. You know, for all you Yahoos who just gave everyone who answered my question a thumbs down you know what you can do with those thumbs. oh, look. I think I see the thumbs up fairy.

- Pansies, of course, come to mind immediately... and since I don't know your planting zone, it's safe to recommend them as they can really stand the freezing cold. "Black Flowers There are lots of spooky black flowers .... Now’s a good time to plant tulips like ‘Queen of Night’, ‘Black Diamond’ and ‘Black Parrot’, which are very deep purple. For sunny spots there’s the columbine Aquilegia ‘Black Barlow’ and hollyhocks Alcea rosea ‘Nigra’, ‘Black Beauty’ and ’Night Watchman’. For the front of the border you could grow Iris ‘Study in Black’, ‘Hello Darkness’ and ‘Paint it Black,’ Dianthus nigricans and D. ‘King of Black’ and the annual cornflowers ‘Black Ball’ and ‘Black Boy’. For shady corners there’s the mourning widow Geranium phaeum and the hellebore, Helleborus orientalis ‘Little Black’." There's also black lily turf 'Nigrescens'. Black eyed susan is orange AND black.
