Gardening Help?

Hi. (: I'm just fairly new to gardening and I have a few questions before I go planting without knowing a few basic things... 1. What are nutrients essential for all kinds of plants? I know the three basics: sunlight, water and soil, but are there any hidden, organic materials you can add to better keep the plant sustained? 2. How deep the seeds should be in the soil? I might plant it too deep that it won't shoot up the soil or too high that they won't survive the heat at their "growing stages". :\ 3. What are good gardening websites, magazines, publications, etc. I can go to that has a lot to say about everything gardening? 4. What are good protection for plants without resorting to pesticides from bugs? Also, during weekends, I'm idle and away from my home so what ways can I keep my plants sustained, growing and protected? 5. What are good tropical plants (since I'm in a tropical region) that grow fast and can withstand enormous amounts of rain? Tnx 2 any1 answering my questions! :]

  1. You can use regular compost fertlizers or vermi compost or for more better results from plants use chemical fertilizers thet vary plant to plant so select accordingly. Keep ur plants in good sunligt for better protection. Soil type also is important for variety of plants it may be granular which will not clog water it should have easy dripping of water There are many sites on internet u can just search in any engine u can plant palms, gerbera, roses, tulips, vegitables of many kind protect u r plants from fungus by keping soil clean and airy pestisides for general gardening are not required in special cases ask any nearest vendor
  2. Most seed packs will tell you depth of planting. most small seeds just need a small amount of dirt covering them. Fish emulsion is a good fertilizer that is natural. Neem oil is a natural insecticide/pesticide/miticide. Never water or spray plants when the sun is shining on them it will burn the leaves. Try to water or treat early morning late evening never middle of the day. Experiment and don't get discouraged if something dies.
