Growing radishes...?
Does anyone know if it is fun to grow radishes in a pot indoors? I keep seeing in the seed catalogs seeds for all sorts of pretty new radish varieties and although I do not at present have a garden, I would like to try them because they look so amusing? Thank you ..... Happy New Year!

- It is rather hard to grow them indoors, as they need cool temps, light and fresh air to be grown successfully. You can grow them in containers outside quite easily however.
- fast, easy to grow inside and you can harvest in 30-40 days!
- Radishes grow well indoors... Put an inch of stones in the bottom of a planter tray Add 6 inches of lightweight potting soil Saturate the soil with water and spread the seeds, cover with 1/4 inch of soil Wrap the top with plastic wrap until the seeds start to germinate 4-8 days Place plants in a window that faces south for longest period of sunshine, supplement natural light with fluorescent lighting during the winter Happy New Year!
- if you want to try to grow something that fun, you should try this. get a gallon glass jar, something with a small top. get one potato, insert toothpicks or something a little longer and wider that a toothpick, into the middle of the potato, so that you can place the potato on top of the jar and that it does not fall to the bottom of the jar. fill the jar with water, with the potato still setting on the top of the jar. make sure that the water is always touching the potato, place the jar on a window sill. after a week or two the potato will start to sprout roots and foliage. at this time got to the tropical fish store and buy two or three guppies and a couple of snails. put them in the jar, you will now have a viable aquarium for years to come.
- Growing radish should be the easiest plant to grow If you can't grow radish you can't grow anything else
