How do I plant the seeds from a Japanese Pea Pod plant?

My friend has a beautiful plant growing around her mailbox. She said it was a japanese pea pod plant. She picked several pods off that had some good size seeds inside, and told me that all I had to do was allow them to dry out and then plant them. Well, I am not even sure I know what she means by "drying them out". I know nothing when it comes to gardening and flowers. Any suggestions for me?

  1. let them sit out in a room or in the sun for about a week, then plant them. You will have to plant them in a slanted order for them to grow right
