What plants do you recommend for a fairly shaded courtyard garden?

- hostas and ferns....can mix in some annuals (not sure where you are located) impatients are beautiful shade plants...
- hostas, coral bells, inpatients, mona lavender, there are many but these are some of my favorites
- Astilbe, Blue Pearl Polemonium, Forget-Me-Nots, Helleborus, Hosta, Hardy Primroses, ferns & Bleeding Hearts. - I agree with suggestions so far and would add: Columbine Lily of the Valley Sedum
- At our greenhouse we grow lots of shade loving plants. Their are hosta, ferns, some grasses, caladiums (which are my favorite) and then a few of the part sun plants would work here as well. Just make sure it has at least 4 hours of sunlight either in the morning or afternoon and you should be okay!
