- Pepperomia and jade plants. Both do fine with little light and just occasional (once or twice a week) watering.
- orchids and antheriums
- I have an Amaryllis in my bedroom, and some Hostas, I really like the blue blooms of my hostas, with the variegated leaves.
- House plants for low light areas: Chinese Evergreen (Aglaonema), Golden Phothos (Epipremnum aureum) , Cast Iron Plant (Aspidistra elatior),Heartleaf Philodendron Cast Iron Plant (Aspidistra elatior),is capable of surviving under low light conditions coupled with extremes of temperatures and irregular watering, it's the perfect plant for those individuals who cannot seem to keep plants alive indoors. http://faculty.ucc.edu/biology-ombrello/POW/cast-iron_plant.htm Golden Pothos (Epipremnum aureum): fine in lower light but it may loose it's variegation http://www.always-online.com/owens/plant/devil.htm You have a good start :) Philodendron is the toughest of all house plants, the heartleaf philodendron can take just about anything other than cold temperatures. http://home.howstuffworks.com/heartleaf-philodendron.htm Thought you'd like to see some other types of Philodendrons: http://www.southerntropicals.com/galleries/Philodendron/index.htm Chinese Evergreen (Aglaonema species) tolerate a wide range of light, & does best in shadow-less light, such as a north window. http://www.urbanext.uiuc.edu/houseplants/types/aglaonema.html http://hgic.clemson.edu/factsheets/HGIC1500.htm Peace Lily (Spathyphyllum) will survive low interior light but would prefer bright filtered light, especially if you want it to bloom. Peace lily needs full shade in the sense that it should not be placed in direct sun or it will sunburn. http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images?_adv_prop=image&fr=ush-ans&va=Peace+Lily&sz= http://hgic.clemson.edu/factsheets/HGIC1512.htm Good luck! Hope this helps.
