Is there a way to kill small amounts of moss from a shade garden without affecting the other plants ?

  1. Small amounts? Sure. Get one of those claw-shaped hand tools and loosen it. Rake it off, and toss it. Ruffle the soil a bit more to loosen it. Unless your other plants are acid-lovers, add some limestone (ground or pelleted) to your soil according to package instructions ... if you have moss I would bet your soil is acid. I actually like moss in a shade garden. It kind of mulches the plants in naturally.
  2. I'm cool with moss and try to encourage it for ground cover great for places that wont grow grass and no need to mow.
  3. use a shovel to dig out what you don't want
  4. you can get moss remover from any home/garden store.
