  1. i reccomend going to a garden store and green house place and asking some of the workers there
  2. Impatients are our number one choice. There are regular and New Guinea.
  3. Hosta, rainbow hosta you can visit your local nursery and they will tell you what you need for your area!
  4. bleeding hearts. there is one type that will have flowers all summer long. it is a pink/purple colour. it is very pretty
  5. There are several plants you can use.Caladiums are beautiful plants whose leaves are the color. They sometimes are called elephant ears because of their shape. There are several varieties and colors are shades of pinks,Burgundy, and cream.Very dramatic planted in a group.Compact variegated hosta is a nice complement. There are ground-covers that have some color as well.Ajuga is deep purple, periwinkle has small bluish flowers and there are different varieties of a specimen called dead nettle. These have different shades of green leaves and small flowers.Happy gardening!!
  6. There are many shade plants...perennials and annuals...first I need more info...what zone do you live in.. or what state? Is it dry shade or wet shade? What type of soil? From a Northern perspective: perennial shade plants: hosta, astilbe, many ferns, cranesbill geranium, dead nettle, japanese spurge, lamb's ears, vinca (also called periwinkle), lady's mantle, columbine, jack-in-the-pulpit, goatsbeard, bellflower (campanula), turtlehead, foxglove, ivy, violets, wintercreeper, coralbells(Huchera), Lysimachia, Phlox, Polemonium, Polmenaria...as far as impatients- an annual in my area, New Guinea Impatients need a lot of sun...
  7. Impatiens actually don't do at all well in the sun. Their lookalike---Periwinkles thrive in the sun. I had a flower bed that was half full shade and half full sun. I planted both these kinds of flowers in the proper areas and you couldn't tell the difference. They come in shades from red to light pink to white.
