Will rat droppings affect my garden vegetables??
I have a few jalapeno pepper plants growing in my back yard, I've found rat poop under them. I want to know if it is safe to eat the peppers or if any watering of the plants can cause harmful seepageinto the growth of the plant.

- yeah, it is, dont worry about it ok?ok good
- It's probably fine to eat them if you wash them well first. On the other hand, isn;t it funny to think of what the rats must be doing when the get a mouthful of those peppers, and have no beer? :-)
- eww. I would not eat it. Rats carry disease. I would set out some traps asap or get a cat. G.G.
- Not going to cause a problem, unless the droppings actually get into the harvested food.
- The fruit of your plants - peppers - are fine... however too much Nitrogen (from the droppings) may effect the size of the plant...and even kill it in the long run.
- it wont harm you in anyway it acts like a fertilizer but you might want to get traps around the garden and or some repellents or you will start to notice that you are infested
