huh weeds weeds weeds how can I get rid of them without using harmful chemicals?

I've been removing weeds from my garden and it consumes up my time especially during rainy season they grew faster than my flowers. When I am very busy with my other chores there the weeds are taller than my plants. I don't want to use those sold by farm supplies because it might harm my plants too

  1. I read somewhere vinegar works, I remember trying it to no avail though, might work. However, I did buy some weed killer spray, that supposedly doesn't harm other plants. But I have no clue if its true, since I don't want to experiment. I'd suggest buying something like that and testing it out somewhere/area you are willing to sacrifice.
  2. Put down some sort of sun block! Peat moss, wood chips, mulch, grass clippings, etc!
  3. pull em and put down PREEN it retards weed growth still have to do it but a lot less.give it a try, lowes and home depot carry it.it is plant friendly.
  4. the old timers would tell you, if the weed went to seed seven years to weed. If you get them out now and use ground covers like red clover and green manure crops you'll gain the upper hand and improve your soil dramatically. There is a large variety to choose from depending on region, type of crop etc...
  5. Paper your garden with newspaper, wet it down, and cover with mulch.
