How much does an average butternut squash weigh? I want to substitute cooked banana squash for the butternut in a recipe, so either the weight of an average butternut or the cups' worth it makes after cooking would be helpful. Do seed companies make mistakes? Long story short, I planted tomato seeds from a seed company called "Cooks Garden", and I have 6 cucumber plants. I just learned they're cucumber plants today when I noticed my biggest "tomato" plant has like 7 cucumbers growing from it. They're all even in tomato cages! (Which works nicely by the way.) I swear I have never bought cucumber seeds. Anyone else have an experience like this?
How can I plant a herb and veggie garden in a small apartment? I have a small balcony. I want to plant useful and practical plants that take little maintenance. I've already got sage, chives, shallots and some mint seedlings sprouting. I've got tomato seeds, but I'm worried they might want to climb there's not much room. I'm planning on planting some chillies as well. What plants would be quite low maintenance but used alot in cooking? I'm after stuff I can use alot but still enjoy nurturing. Thanks ! I think garden was a bad word. It's more like little pot plants, but I can get large planters as well...so sorta like a garden...
Can poppy seeds bought for cooking be used to grow poppy plants? I'm interested in growing papaver somniferum (also known as the opium poppy). I am not sure if poppy seeds sold in garden stores (oriental red) are of the same genus or species, so I am wondering if it is possible to plant and grow poppy plants from the poppy seeds bought in supermarkets for cooking? By the way, I find the plant to be very beautiful and in no way, shape, or form intend to harvest any opium or partake in any illegal activities of any kind :-).

What are the themes of these stories? 1) three strangers enter a small village. the village people hide all their food, not wanting to offer any hospitality. the three strangers borrow a pot in which to make "soup" by boiling three stones. they then trick the village people into volunteering to contribute their hidden vegetables and other food to add to the stone soup. the end result is a delicious soup and a happy gathering among the strangers and the village people. 2) an industrious character decides to plant a garden. she asks for help preparing the ground, but her friends do not help. she asks for help planting the seeds, but her friends prefer to watch. this continues through the weeding, harvesting, and preserving of the good things from her garden. when she cooks up a delicious pot of stew, her friends volunteer to help her eat it, but she tells them that because they would not help her plant, weed, or harvest, they cannot enjoy the final product.

Pumpkins I grew in garden, are not sweet at all? They are little mini sugar pie pumpkins, stayed on the vine til fully deep orange. I scooped out the seeds and gunk, cooked the pumpkins, scooped out the flesh. Pureed it. It looks great, but very little taste. Not sweet at all! in fact kind of almost a bitter taste. I eat lots of squash, they're always sweet (acorn, butternut etc). What happened to the pumpkins? Thanks. No pesticides, full growing season, good soil, grew well....baffling. I got in a fight and I am not eating because I feel upset? I am in my room, which me and my husband rent for 400 a month. My baby is breast fed. It's almost noon. My mom was angry at me for not buying a big bag of sesame seeds. She said only I eat them. But I use them to cook for the whole family, (of 9) told her I would buy the sesame seed. But I said if she wants me to buy food than I don't want to cook and clean everyday, exept my own mess. I said I would eat less too. I told her that I baught a huge bag of rice and lots of spices and have a huge vegetable garden worth lots. Now I am upstairs in my room and am hungry. But I feel so upset that I don't want to go out and I don't want to eat. My baby is not happy. I don't have any money with me right now because it's with my husband who is working. I don't know what is right or wrong. I do work for the family on the computer too. I am advertising a huge painting and trying sell it and give all the profits to my brother. I really want to help. I am trying to sell her stuff also on ebay. I feel overly stressed out. I don't want to be a burden and I want to help out. But I am unsuccessful. my mother says she spends overe 800 a month for food for everyone.
I love chiles and am going to start growing. Does anyone have a list of varieties that are beginner friendly? I enjoy mild up to Thai chile hot in terms of heat. My garden will be out on my balcony here in San Diego, so it's perfect growing weather. Could anyone please suggest a list of chiles that will grow well and are pretty easy? What are the chiles they use in Asian cooking? How long does it take from seed to harvest? Thanks so much!

Any tips for growing herbs in a garden? Well, I'm new to gardening, but I've read a lot of books about it and i think I know the basics.. I love cooking and feel it would be awesome to grow my own fresh herbs to use in some of my dishes. A few herbs I plan on growing are mint, rosemary, catnip, and sage. I've purchased the seeds, but I'm not so sure as to how to plant them. I've also purchased a few large bins filled with soil and compost. Could someone tell me if it's necessary to germinate my seeds, and if it is how to go through with it? Also, how should I harvest them, and dry them? Thank you so much :)

Finding Tomatillo and Habanero Plants? I was doing a great job growing tomatillo and habanero plants for my summer garden. Then, either wind or my cat knocked down the lid of my cold frame one hot and sunny day earlier this month and it fried all my plants. I've tried to find tomatillo and habanero plants at many greenhouses in the area (southwest Michigan) without any luck. There are a few sources of habanero plants on-line but all are overpriced. It seems impossible to find tomatillo plants for sale on-line, only seeds. What gives? Why are there no source for these two rather common plants for Mexican cooking? I can find dozens cultivars of pepper and tomato plants that are far less common. 10 points for the first person who can identify a source of tomatillo plants (NOT SEEDS!) on-line. A default 10 points for the the best answer explaining why they aren't available.

When making the ambrosia fruit on the Sims 3...? How do I get the seed from the catacombs? I know where the catacombs is; how do I find it? Do i keep going in there until my sim finds it? My sim has mastered the gardening, fishing, and cooking skill.
sims 3 question this might be a silly question but how do i get a plant or cheese seed? the gardening op in the sims 3 ask for me to deliver home grown cheeses, do i need a cooking skill or is it a seed ill find somewhere if so where.
Pleasee helppp. Sims 3 questionnn.? I just worked my Sim's butt off making her master the cooking, gardening, and fishing skill and I made her find the life fruit seed and I bought the recipe. She read the full recipe and made ambrosia successfully three times. Now, when my ghosts eat the ambrosia, nothing happens. In their que, it just says "Ressurect" but the don't turn to normal sims! I tried making them eat two plates, and still, nothing happens. The aging is on. Has anyone had this problem; what's the solution? Thanks :) I know I've asked this question 2 times but no one's answering. RIP MJ<3
Homework Help? (equations)? I need help with a few word problems. I'm having trouble understanding what kind of equation to use on word problems (multiplying, dividing, adding, etc.) 1. A chef cooks 1 1/2 potatoes for each serving of mashed potatoes. How many servings can he make from 18 potatoes? 2. The perimeter of an equilateral triangle is 25.5 cm. How long is each side? 3. Suppose you have $15 to plant a garden. If you spend $6 on seeds, how many packs of vegetable plants could you buy for $0.75 each?
Can anyone recommend good sites and books for beginner gardeners? When I say "beginning" I really mean "dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to plants and their care". I do have a herb garden because I cook with fresh herbs daily, but my gardening service tends that for me and I just pick the stuff I need for the meal I'm cooking. I want to learn to do this stuff effectively by myself though. I tried some tomato plants last year that I bought as seedlings, but I got a gopher who promptly ate their roots. By the time I convinced Squint (what I named the gopher) to go away and find new tasty gardens to eat, the tomato plants were beyond saving. This year I want to try again, but I'm going to go all-out and start with seeds rather than seedlings, and I want to plant more than one type of plant. 1. Can you recommend any good sites, preferably with an active forum, that will hold my little virtual hand through the entire gardening process? I really do know next to nothing other than dirt+seeds+water = stuff grows. Theoretically, at least. 2. What are some good, easy plants for a beginner gardener? I'm going for a vegetable garden. I have the herb garden and several flower bed, but those are all cared for by my gardening service. I want something I can point to and proudly say "Look what I managed not to kill" and that will also give my household fresh veggies (we'll eat almost anything here, so anything goes as far as that's concerned) 3. What kind of supplies and/or tools that may not be obvious do you recommend I have? I already have bought the so-dorky-it's-cool giant hat to keep the sun off of me and some little hand trowels and a little hand claw/rake. I *think* I have a pair of gardening gloves, but will buy new ones anyway so they match my hat. Anything else? Oh, the area I have to work with used to have a storage shed on it and is trapezoid shaped. It is bordered on the North side by my house, the South side by a tall, wooden fence and there's a dry sauna and a spa on the East side. It's about 10 feet at it's widest, 8 feet at the narrow end and there's about 6 feet between the fence and the walkway next to my house. It does get good sunlight most of the day. I'm pretty sure that information is important. Thank you so much for any help/suggestions you can give me! ☺
Herbs keep going to seed??? I enjoy gardening and love cooking with fresn herbs, BUT my herbs keep going to seed quite early after they mature into a nice full grown plant. Is there any way to stop them going to seed??? I'm from New Zealand and our Summer is just about to start.
How do like these Characters? Victoria Bate (nee Bode)-a middle-aged woman. She worked her whole life as a homemaking, home-caring housewife who sweeps the house with pleasure, she pleasantly plants the seeds in her garden of pink roses and lilies, she leave the last the crumb for her husband and she takes delight in the hearth, cooking cakes and surprises and quotes many times to headstrong women Kate's Final Speech from The Taming of the Shrew. But behind her smiles and sweetness, she was terribly unsympathetic, bitter and cruel and takes out her anger on younger women who serve in her household (excluding her daughters). Despite being pampered by her husband, she is desperately tired of knitting, cooking, cleaning and washing but enjoys seeing other women lesser than her have more worse positions than she does. On the other hand, she is oddly happy about her position; she doesn't have to work and finds solace (in an odd way) in her place and she does this to runaway from the disasters of the outside world. Grace Wisdom Bate-Victoria's eldest daughter; a raving beauty with clear skin and dressed in long flowing flowery dresses. Yet beauty is skin deep; she is a sanctimonious, vain lady who lets swear word out once in a while, though silently. She too both enjoys and hate her work as a 'housemaid' and is verily disgusted when washing her step-father's feet and shaving his beard. Eliza Bate-Victoria's youngest daughter; not very beautiful as her sister but very pretty with her curly hair, soft eyes and small bosoms. But like her sister and mother, she is verily self-righteous and arrogant. She truly hates her work but prays for the day when she will get a marriage bed and enjoy making babies instead of having them. Godfrey Bate-another Pastor and second husband of Victoria; a middle-aged, scrawny bearded man with a hairy chest, arms, legs and butt. He looks like a man that can welcome you with open arms, but he is a very rigid, misogynistic, raw, harsh, tobacco-chewing authoritarian who enjoys dreaming of having a harem and being muscular and tanned. Isaac Bate-Godfrey's eldest son. Isaac is an intellectual man with charm, but he believes in old theories like a woman's brain being smaller than a male's. He is smug, opinionated, serious and an autoerotic pervert. Noah Bate-Godfrey's youngest son. Noah is athletic, hardworking and a hypocritical tart. Despite his upbringing, he lost his virginity to a second cousin (by accident). He can be dashing and clever but dramatic, sluttish and chauvinistic.
You're poor and just moved into a new house with nothing. What are the first things you buy for your health? OK, basically I'm trying to figure out, what things are at the top of your priority for living a healthy life, especially if you don't have the money to buy "everything." Assume that you have basic food, but nothing out of the ordinary. List as many things as you like that you think would be an immediate priority for your limited budget. So... is your priority high quality food items, such as extra virgin olive oil, raw milk, almonds, etc.? Or maybe some sort of vitamin or supplement? Or, is your priority things in the kitchen to help you cook healthier foods, such as a juicer or good pots and pans? Or, perhaps it's equipment, such as an exercise bike or an inverter machine. Or, maybe you'd get things to have a healthy house, such as an air filter or water filter. Would you get seeds for a garden? Healthy cleaning supplies? Anything goes. Those are just a few thoughts, but be specific. I'm asking this same question in a couple sections, since I think different philosophies of health might have whole different ideas... Lol. OK, you have basic living stuff. Just not stuff for living a healthy lifestyle...
Salvia Divinorum......? Heard that Salvia Divinorum gets you high, and so I'm wondering if you can get the plant or seeds from a garden center? If you can, under what name do you find it? And is sage and salvia divinorum the same thing? Is cooking salvia and salvia divinorum the same thing? Thank You! :) 10 Points For The Best, Most Useful Answer! :) 10 Points For The Best, Most Useful Answer! :) Firstly, no not going the wrong direction. What do you guys think of my poem? It's about the discovery of Cannabis? The Rainbow Nug Every day at a quarter to Seven, I go for a walk through the park. It’s nice and cool and filled with people too, and it’s just a tiny bit dark. Oh, one day, one fateful day, when I went for my walk through the park, This old, small man walked by me and some dogs began to bark. The babies cried, the birdies flew, for why I could not tell, For some reason I was drawn to this man, perhaps it twas his smell. I had never smelled a smell like this, an odor like no other. I simply could not restrain myself, uncontrollably I muttered, “Oh good sir please inform A young simple man like me What is your business in this park, O, please do not flee. He paused for second, thought for a few, I thought he was going to flee. But, he stuck his bony finger out, and pointed to a large oak tree. He spoke of how grand and strong it was, but nonetheless ordinary. Nothing differentiates this tree, from apple, pine, or cherry. He then handed me one small seed, His face was filled with glee. He whispered in my innocent ear, “This becomes a magic tree” Of course I laughed, of course I scoffed. I called this man a phony. But when I turned to leave this man, He said, “Hold up dumb pony” He instructed me to tell no one, And to protect this tiny seed. He said its flower won’t fill my belly, my soul it shall feed. He said the crop was worth it all, my total dedication. So I quit my job, divorced my wife, and took a new vocation. I went straight home, made a garden, and put the seed in mud. A stem soon sprouted, it grew and grew, and soon appeared a bud. The tree grew large; the leaves grew thick, deep down the green roots dug. And to my surprise, my great surprise, Sprouted a rainbow nug. Since I quit my job, I grew very poor. I was a failing man. All I had to cook it in was an empty aluminum can. I put the can above my stove, and out the can came smoke. My friends, my brothers, I made history as the first man to toke. This magical device needed a name, I thought of “Can of bliss” So I smooshed all the words together and settled with “Cannabis” All of life made great sense, nothing would cause me trauma. I felt like bird soaring above the clouds, my soul was in Nirvana. I went to my room, opened my drawer, and grabbed my handy shank. I handily cut off some nugs, “I’ll sell these and make bank.” I sold the nugs, but kept the seeds, so only I could grow. Knowledge is true power, and EVERYONE wanted to blow. I was rich, I was powerful, and I slept with attractive women. I was the cream of the crop, to me everything was given. Late that night, I had a dream that I was killed by my pet. I woke up, and thought nothing of it. I did not worry or fret. On my next sell I accidentally, included an impure seed. My buyers thought they had the key, and realized I was no longer a need. They burned my house, while I was asleep, I died in my bed Along with me burned the perfect buds, the magic tree was dead. The men who killed me thought they’d won, when they crushed me like a bug. But when I died I took with me, the perfect Rainbow nug. So smoke your shitty orange Kush, and all your shitty weed. The perfect, dank-azz Rainbow nug, was killed my human greed.
How to deal with a dear elderly friend who has done a lot for you but he HATES everyone and everything? He watches politics all the time and every other word out of his mouth is "he's a stupid so and so " or that dumb "n" word" I can't stand it anymore! I don't know what to say any more He is a nice guy and has helped me a lot. He reads the bible every day but I don't understand if he reads the bible how does he justify all the negativity he uses? when He talks on the phone to his friends after he hangs up he says negative stuff about them too or they're just stupid and don't know any better. He says people around here don't like him and he doesn't care. But I know he really does and he is sad about it. I try to visit him often but lately I haven't cuz I can't take it anymore. He says go a head watch tv but even a cooking show he critisizes and talks over everything so you can't even hear whats going on anyway so why bother. He has gotten worse over the years or I should say he never used to even be like this. I respect him as a human being I try to change the subject or make comments that are neutral but nothing helps/ What can I do or say to help him realize that not everyone is into politics and if you don't have anything nice or positive to say don't say it at all without hurting his feelings. How do I let him know I can't stand politics for one more second or hear him say the "N" word again or I'm gonna pull my hair out without hurting his feelings. I can't stand listening to it anymore cuz thats all he talks about and everything is NEGATIVE!!! I know he is old and I was brought up to respect my elders. I try the best I can to thank him for all he has done for me and I when I can't deal with it I don't stop by for a while but I feel bad. He is constantly buying me food ( I am on food stamps and appreciate it ) but I feel guilty cuz then I feel I have to listen to all the negative stuff. I know I don't sound like I appreciate this older guy but everything is his way or the highway so I just try to stay out of his way. He invited me to use his garden to grow vegetables so I busted my back to turn it all over and plant seeds but nothing grew cuz he doesnt water it and I can't be here just to water a garden. AND he grew up on a farm and is always talking about what a great farmer he is. He cooks and expects me to eat but mostly is microwaved and I dont want to eat it anyway. If I graciously refuse he gets insulted. I have tried to tell him no need to make anything for me but that doesn't work. What do I do? He is such a dear man but no matter what, he has something negative to say about everything! He only watches tv from the 40's or something cuz he can't stand any "of these new actors" or the language they use but still invites me to watch what I like. When I do, he says the most awful comments I change the channel back to whAT HE likes and just stare blankly just so he has company. Some one please help what do I do? He is getting older and doesnt have family where we live and I do care about his health and everything but he makes me feel like 2 cents all the time Plus he think the lanuage of today is bad( I do to but I just ignore it on tv ) but I think calling people nigger and there dumb etc. is worse!!! Aren't people who read the bible supposed to be nice or at least practice what it preaches? Help how do I help him see what a strain its putting on me without hurting his feelings. Any suggestions? And please don't say do go over anymore because even though he is opinionated and stubborn everyone deserves a little kindness and company especially older people Thanks for listening anyway He HATES animals
Birds eating my sunflowers!? I hate birds. They crap all over the house, they crap all over the cars, they crap on my head at the beach and flock around you so you can't enjoy your vacation. They wake me up early in the morning before the sun even comes up, and now... ... they are eating my sunflowers. Now I love my sunflowers. Large, detailed, colorful, very beautiful. Some species I can even gather the seeds for consumption and cooking. Nothing makes me more angry than walking out into my garden to find my beautiful sunflowers all torn up and half eaten. How can I stop these disgusting monsters from eating my sunflowers???? I want them, dead or alive, to leave my sunflowers alone. I've heard of placing mesh over the flower heads, but that's a last resort for me because what is the use to have nice looking flowers if you're just gonna cover them up with ugly mesh bags. I prefer the shotgun method, but I don't really wanna scare the neighbors. :) I've tried sprnkiling pepper over the flower heads, too and that didn't work either.
I found a tagged pigeon!? Ok, so I have a tagged pigeon on my back patio. It just sits there. It isn't annoying or anything, actually I think it rather cute. But it has a yellow tag of its right foot and I think it might belong to someone. It isn't really scared of people, but as soon as you get within 2 feet of it the thing will walk away. I haven't ever seen it fly. At the moment it is living in my vegetable garden. I have thrown it flax seeds a few times, they aren't cooked or anything. He also drinks the water that I spray on my plants. Does anyone know what a yellow tag means? It can fly... I tried to catch it...
Some very random plant questions? If you do not always feed your venus fly trap bugs, will it die? and also if you took a coffee bean from a bag and planted it would it grow or no? are those already cooked or something? also my family loves strawberries, and I love watermelon if you were to take the seeds from either or and plant them, would they grow or not? And for watermelon do you plant the black or clear seed when planting, and for the strawberry can the things on the outside grow to? Thanks for answering my question? I plan on starting a garden soon
Anyways to improve my volunteering essay would be greatly appreciated? You can re-edit it or anything, send it to me via email if you like, please request my email address if you would like to do that. Thanks! Nelson Henderson once said that, “[t]he true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit”. To give and not expect reward should be the essence of humanity, where people are willing to help each other out of the goodness of their hearts. Therefore, volunteering is the essence of humanity, equality, and the beauty of mankind. As people volunteer and contribute to society, they disseminate seeds in the wonderful symbolic garden of the world, while they also experience an inner growth of moral spirit. Rebirth, growth and care are the generous and profound meanings of volunteerism that shall forever remain. Of my many volunteering hours, there are highlights to mention. A mere paragraph cannot suffice to describe the numerous hours which myself and others had employed toward bettering the world. For starters, I am a proud member of the Whitecourt Youth Advisory Committee. We meet monthly with the Mayor to discuss important issues, events and various other topics within Whitecourt. The main goal of the committee that I belong to is to improve our town the best we can. Four members, including myself, represent the voice of youth, and we strive to enhance opportunities for young people and raise awareness of youth potential. I am a liaison between youth and local government. We constantly contribute ideas, and work for the committee in order to improve the town of Whitecourt. I also am a volunteer coordinator within Whitecourt, where I assist in planning and organizing volunteer programs, advertising and presenting volunteering opportunities to members of Whitecourt. Aside from being involved in the Whitecourt Youth Advisory Committee, I am a member of the “Whitecourt POWER” group, which stands for “People Of Whitecourt Encouraging Resiliency.” Grounded in extensive research in youth development, resiliency and prevention, the “POWER” group, represents the relationships, opportunities and personal qualities that young people need in order to avoid risks and to thrive. The “POWER” group’s vision consists of a Whitecourt where all citizens have the opportunity to thrive and progress toward a happy and healthy lifestyle. Our missions and work consists of support to create a Whitecourt that promotes resiliency through the actions of its community members. Whitecourt also held a “Relay for Life Marathon” to raise money for cancer, the volunteers would receive sponsors for walking in the relay throughout the night. I walked for eight straight hours and raised as much money as I could for cancer research. The thrill of helping people, gave me a sense of joy and accomplishment, because I was able to give back to the community. In addition, I have participated in 4-H within another nearby community, Mayerthorpe. There, we collected garbage along the highways and helped preserve a healthy environment for members of society and maintaining a positive public image. Also within Mayerthorpe, I have volunteered many hours at the Mayerthorpe General Hospital, where I socialized with patients, served and cooked dinner, watered plants and completed standard cleaning practices. While volunteering, I developed a very close relationship with one of the patients who has taught me so much and helped me grow as a person. That patient’s name was Dawn. She is in a wheelchair and has Tourette's syndrome. Dawn usually does not respond or speak with other staff members, she always keeps to herself. After I got to know her a bit, she warmed up to me and we became close friends. I would talk and laugh with her everyday. I will never forget how she taught me to appreciate life and never loose faith. Besides volunteering at the hospital, within Whitecourt schools, I have been a member of student council from 2003-2007, where I worked with other members toward creating and sustaining a friendly atmosphere within our school. We planned school spirit days, dances and much more. Volunteering has undoubtedly allowed me to enjoy the satisfaction of making a difference. Kindness should not stop at the human manifestation of borderlines, countries or nations; kindness is not characterized by the work you may do for your family, friends and community, but the hope and help you give to all of humanity. To help those whom you do not know, is not only to shower them with love and hope, but also to help them the best you can with the most you can offer. True kindness comes from the heart, and you do it without expecting rewards. Within my current school, Hilltop High, I am the treasurer of the Hilltop Humanitarian Society. The Hilltop Humanitarian Society was created in September 2007 to help orphaned children in Uganda. With the help of local businesses and community members, in partnership with the “Ugandan Women's Effort To Save Orphans”, the Humanitarian So ”, the Humanitarian Society is a major sponsor of the Masulita Children's Village in Uganda. The HIV-AIDS pandemic in Uganda has left more than 2 million children as orphans, many of whom have no access to education, shelter, adequate dietary needs or medication. Our main goal is to foster relationships between students in Uganda and Canada, and to involve the students in direct, face-to-face aid. The society volunteers at many different events, with all the profits going directly where it is needed most. We donate 500 US Dollars a month and because it is a very direct organization, the money goes straight to the orphanage. We have very direct ties with the orphans, owners and operators of the orphanage. The Ugandan children are part of our family. Each member has a pen pal orphan and upon reading the first letter I received from my pen pal, I could not hold back my tears. The child’s gratefulness for our assistance made me realize how much a person can help the world, just by offering , just by offering time, money and effort the best they can, with love, care, and a truly giving heart. To maintain a constant support for the orphanage, other members and I held events such as, bottle drives, car washes, catering, and school events, all of which are made successful by generous local businesses; we also serve suppers at business parties and much more. As treasurer, I am responsible for all financial work such as budgeting, ledgers, reconciliation, financial reports, banking, scheduling and tracking volunteering hours. I work very hard to keep our society organized and able to provide help to those in need. Through my contribution to the world, I have been blessed with the rebirth and nurturing of my own metaphoric plant. Gandhi taught the world that, "[t]he best way to find yourself, is to lose yourself in the service of others." The effort and time that I have offered in volunteering has rewarded me with motivation and love. Though these rewards are not tangible, , they have nonetheless allowed my inner self to become more knowledgeable to the less fortunate in the world and mature into a beautiful and constantly growing metaphoric tree. The world can become a better place when people work jointly with the common goal that the world needs to be improved. To truly make a change in the world for the better, is though a collective volunteering minds that are determined to contribute to creating and sustaining a healthy and happy world. “In every community, there is work to be done. In every nation, there are wounds to heal. In every heart, there is the power to do it” (Marianne Williamson). While I may be insignificant and cannot change the entire world alone, if I leave the earth having made a small step towards improving the world, I will be proud because I know that I have made a difference. There is truth in what Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “[t]he creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn.” I strive to be that acorn. A garden requires A garden requires patient care, attention and time. Plants do not grow merely to satisfy ambitions or to fulfill good intentions. They thrive because someone expended effort on them, as the world requires the same care and generosity in order to grow, learn and prosper. If we continue to work together, the world will become a better place for all who thrive and live within it. It was once said, “Mental sunshine will cause the flowers of peace, happiness and prosperity to grow upon the face of the earth. Be a creator of mental sunshine.”
What the best gift you have ever recieved and or given? (not romantic. for family members)? I have no idea what to get my mom or dad for christmas. if this helps: My mom like gardening, pretty things and cooking. shes somewhat spiritual and is an herbalist. My dad is a nature person too. Loves the out doors. Very practical person. think a little more then "get your mom gardening gloves and a basket with seeds and tools" and "get your dad a hiking stick" or things along thoes lines. Last year I got my mom a copper heart wind chime from gaiam and my dad a cherry pit neck pillow that you can heat in the microwave.
Fellow Solitaries, how do you celebrate Mabon? Usually I do something simple. I will save some of the seeds from the vegetables in my garden as an offering. I do a simple rite and then go for a walk in the woods behind my house. This year I was thinking of trying to make one of those corn-husk dolls. Know any good sites with instructions on how? Also, do you have any favorite meals you like to cook for dinner that night? What rituals/rites do you perform and at what time of day? Can you suggest any good books or sites on different ideas for celebrating the sabbats?
Common Thai Ingredients? My mom really likes Thai food and loves to use ingredients from her own garden. But I don't know A thing about Thai food... What are some common fruits, veggies or even spices that are easy to grow? How common you ask? Common enough for shoprite to have the seeds. And that would be in a Thai cook book. Thank you!!

What the heck kind of squash is this!? I need some assistance in identifying a squash that my friend gave me. She says she has no idea what it is, and does not remember planting it - LOL! Looking at it, it looks like a mutant zucchini! The outside: It was partially green, but mostly yellow when I got it. Now it is completely yellow. When I cut it open, it was like the inside of a pumpkin, with guts and seeds, and the meat/flesh was a light yellowish color. I have tried looking up a variety of squashes and none seem to match. Could it be a hybrid!? Maybe something cross pollinated in her garden last year? Either way, I am cooking it right now. Hopefully it won't kill me! ;-) It looks like a ginormous zucchini - only it is yellow-orange, and the insides are guts and seeds like a pumpkin. It was very difficult to cut. It does not have the shape of a butternut, nor the ripples/ridges of a delicate squash. As for spaghetti squash... maybe? Well, I cooked it and ate it. I cooked it @ 350 for almost an hour, but it was still too crunchy for my liking. I even put butter, and salt & pepper on it, but I didn't care for the flavor. Maybe if it had been cooked properly, it would have tasted fine - but oh well! I ended up giving it to my chickens and they loved it, so no food wasted and no hard feelings. :-) And though I still have no clue what kind of squash it is, I believe it is some sort of hybrid. Thanks for the answers.

I need a stinky turnip again!!!!? On Thanksgiving of 2002 my wife cooked a turnip (rutabaga) to go with our dinner. While she was cooking it I noticed that it did not have the pungent odor that I was used to. When we sat down to eat the Turnip was flavorless. Every year since I have noticed that the turnip was not as strong. Has anyone else noticed this? I am going to have my own garden this year- finally. I am wondering if I should use heirloom seeds. I have only eaten rutabaga that I can remember. Will a real turnip have the pungent smell and strong flavor that I remember?. Thanks
How do I strike a balance between helping the planet and helping my wallet when it comes to food? If I could, I would eat nothing but food I've grown in my own garden which I've been able to care for and watch over from seed to harvest, re-growing the seeds I've harvest from the season before. Raise a few chickens for their eggs, and maybe even a cow or goat for milk (and hey, why not some cheese!) I'm not vegetarian, I eat fish... but I wouldn't have the heart to actually kill an animal, so I guess I would probably not eat fish anymore I guess. But, I'm 20 years old. The only plant I've ever taken care of was a bean (or was it pea..?) that I grew in 7th grade for a science project. I'm in college. In fact, I'll actually be in another country next semester. I'm in a transient moment in my life, so of course none of this is really possible. Right now, I've been trying to strike a balance between cheap and healthy. For example, I'll make boxed spaghetti with jarred sauce, but I'll cook up some local zucchini and red onions to throw into the mix. It's much harder during the winter when there is no farmer's market and I've actually been turned away from city buses because they're full, so there's no way to get to a Whole Foods (oh my gosh expensive!) or a Trader Joe's (nearly an hour away by bus.) I buy $3 gallons of milk and $1 cartons of eggs. I mean... it's just so hard to justify buying (organic or grass-fed) products that are twice as much when I already feel like I'm stretching every last dollar I have to actually be able to buy "fresh" produce instead of soda and ramen. I guess... I'm just asking how do you make it work? I've given up "meat" except for fish and traces of animal products (I'll eat cheese with rennet, gummy bears with gelatin, etc. etc.) just because eating organic/grassfed meat would just make it more expensive, so I figured it would be an easy fix. In kind of the same way: How do you be a wallet-friendly consumer, an eco-friendly citizen, and not eat like a rabbit?

Teaching me your gentle charms. Growing up with you by my side... Learning from you never to lie. To understand and not judge too... Love and kindness I also learned from you. You were always the one we could all lean on. Even though it must have felt like a ton. You were always the strength of the family. Now we must let you rest calmly. As we say goodbye, as tears roll down our eyes. I know your place in heaven has a good view. Because you're telling God, I need to keep an eye on a few. I know you will always be in our hearts and mind. So Grandma, I must go, but I'll never forget you're one of a kind
(Sexual) Ladies: Do I need to...? So, I'm usually the dominant one, and I usually preheat the oven real good before doing some serious cooking. But, I'll let a girl take charge if she's so inclined. However, any woman who has taken charge, just throws me down, rips my clothes off, and goes to town. Now I'm not arguing, by any means. But, this leads me to wonder... Do women really like foreplay? Do I really need to water the garden before I plant my seed? Or, do women actually want the same treatment?

Anyone have some nice, dietetic fresh herb recipes? Hello, All, Well, this is my current situation, culinarily speaking. About 3 weeks ago, we bought my kidlets some plants to plant in the back yard, and I bought an herb garden kit for fun. Then, for my birthday, my wife bought me an AeroGarden (a really, really, neat device, probable will kill my electric bill, but it seems really cool so far) :-), with an herb seed packet. So now I have growing fresh: basil mint oregano chives thyme dill parsley. I haven't got a whole lot of experience working with fresh herbs, but am actually pretty excited about the prospects. I plan on getting some more seeds, and potting a bunch of different herbs next spring. But my question is, does anyone have some really yummy, but light (fighting the battle of the bulge, y'know) recipes or meal ideas utilizing these herbs? I'd rather use them fresh, but have no problem with the concept of drying them. There are the obvious, salad dressings, some sauces, use the mint to make mint julips, etc., but I figured that there are enough people here that I may get some truly awesome ideas! So I put my palette in your capable hands! I look forward to hearing some of your ideas. And, also, what are some other fresh herbs you'd recommend growing in the future? What are some "must have" plants for the budding at-home cook? Again, thank you in advance for your responses! Peace
How do Moose know when hunting season starts? . . I used to have a garden in Alaska, you must stay busy what with the Sun, chasing the day away for the big Moon to shine and those darn Moose...they eat everything grew so quickly what with the end chasing the seeds of before before too late froze them in situ, I find myself there under early morning Sun shadows in my garden, pulling carrots staring at basketballs of cabbage hidden under the rhubarb lost in a cool breeze, soon passing Mt. Iliamna, settling over Cook Inlet and calling the Moose to come and get it . . . the back strap tastes like...Moose . I shot a swamp chicken when I was 15...I ate it....never again...but I will fish for food
Moms: What would u do if you had an ill friend who did this to you? I have a friend, we are not real close, who called me out of the blue today and left two lengthy scathing 'f*ck you, you piece of sh*t...' kind of' messages. (We have not spoken in atleast four or five weeks, as summer is a very busy time for me.) She then called my house and left two other messages that my husband cut off and would not let me hear, before he called her back and told her to knock it off or else. She was high and drunk again. This is an important point. She has MS and has deteriorated quite a bit in the last three years since we have met, and is on alot of pain medications and smokes pot alot of the time. This does not bother me, as I thought she was really into her own care, and it was none of my business. Well, today she called me and left me the most hateful horrible messages you can imagine, attacking me for not being a good friend, saying she felt used, I had not come to see her enough, I use my baby as an excuse (?), that my small business was nothing, take my this and that and shove it, etc. etc. etc. all with her slurred speech and every four letter word through clenched teeth full of hate you could imagine hearing. I was very shocked and then kind of scared that she was going to come over here or something. It really cut me deep, as I am a fairly quiet but friendly person. Yes, I like to keep to myself alot of the time, and I don't like to squander my free time when I have some. Yes, I have not been about a mile away to go see her new house. I saw it before they bought it though. I rarely get to leave my own house, as I work from home as a grower and take my baby daughter with me and care for her all day while I work, inside and outside. I have to admit I find I enjoy just going from one project to the next, and enjoy the little moments at home with my children and my husband, and our wonderful garden and animals. I want to add that this friend has been to several holiday meals at our house, because I like to feed friends and family on the holidays. I usualy cook for more than 15 people at a time and she has come several times here with her husband. She has done nice things for me like pet sit, make a pretty handknit sweater for my baby, give me books and small gifts for my two daughters. I have not recipricated as much, but it doesn't mean I don't care for her. I am just not able to spend money on gifts. In the past I have given her books, seeds, plants, eggs, and baby chicks...all things that are dear to me. I guess I just have not given her enough time. For that, I am sorry. I am not a very attentive friend, but it doesn't mean I am not a loving or giving person. I enjoy the times my friends do come to visit me. Some of them stay over night, and I love to cook for them. So after all that, do you think I should just cut ties and maybe go so far as to give her back the sweater and the books, maybe write her a letter and tell her that she is right, I am not as good as her, and that I enjoyed our times in the past but now we will part ways. ? I need some advice here. I didn't mean to be a bad friend. I am what I am. Maybe easy to know and hard to get to know. My husband said she is a loony tune and he called her and told her to stay away for good, that there is now no basis for a friendship after what she did today. Thanks for reading this. I would not have posted this had it not hurt me so deeply. :+(
i need some advice on growing potatoes.? i dont have access to seed potatoes so can i use normal cooking potatoes. i also want to use sand and garden soil to grow then in what should be the ratio . and how long dose garlic take to be ready for harvest
Indoor Growing: Should I get "Warm" or "Cool" T5 Grow Light for the early growth of plants? I moved to a new house and it has a very nice basement that I want to set up some grow lights so that I can have herbs and veggies year round. (I live in Zone 5 so super cold Winters.) I am taking a corner and putting up a wire shelving unit that will have 2 levels (one shelve for herbs under 2 feet tall and 1 for baby plants that will be moved later after they grow past 2 feet tall.) and a unit that will be for the taller plants. I will need three T5 light fixtures - 2 for the growth of baby plants/non-flowering or fruiting plants, 1 for plants that will fruit. I'm starting slow so I'm going to get one T5 Light Fixture that will be enough for a tray of herbs that I tried to grow in the garden but they got eaten by something... And I figure that herbs are very simple to grow, so I can't really screw things up that bad because I'll only be out a few months and a couple of pinches of seeds. The T5 Fixture I am looking at purchasing comes with bulbs but it comes with "Cool Spectrum" bulbs and I can't find any info on if you need "Cool Spectrum" or "Warm Spectrum" for the initial, baby, growing period of the seedlings. I figure that since I'll need the bulbs that come with it eventually, I'll go with it but I need to know in advance if I should order the "Warm" Bulbs at the same time to save on Shipping And Handling. The info I've found says: "T5 bulbs are highly developed and technology-ridden bulbs that are designed to maximize the light output of the bulb, while using less energy than previous T12 and T8 models. Get an amazing 5000 lumens per bulb, in both 3000ºK (warm) and 6500ºk (cool)color spectrum." The fixture I am going to purchase comes with "6500ºk (cool) Blue color spectrum" bulbs. Are those the Correct Spectrum I require for the Seedlings and when they grow a bit, since I don't have to worry about fruits, just the growth of the leaves I'll use for cooking? Thanks for any advice you can provide.

To help the environment, would you try a raw vegan diet? The 4/9/2007 issue of Time mag was a double issue on global warming, and had an article called "51 Things We Can Do." Thing #22 was becoming a vegetarian, #25 was purchasing local produce, and thing #39 was doing your own gardening. If you switched, even partially, to eating raw fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds, you would slow global warming by 1) reducing the 18% of the greenhouse gas emissions caused by the international meat industry, including the nitrous oxide and methane emitted by cows; 2) reducing the greenhouse gas emissions caused by transporting meat and produce; and 3) using less energy by not cooking. You would improve your health by 1) consuming the active enzymes in raw food that make digestion more efficient, 2) getting better nutrition that alleviates many health problems, 3) maintaining a healthy weight, and 4) not needing to eat so much because the high level of nutrition would curb your appetite. Would you try it? See http://youtube.com/watch?v=Re28fjJcUs8 PatV - about bacteria, cooked food has a lot more bacteria than raw food. Leave a raw tomato and a cooked tomato out on your counter and see which one goes bad first. After staying in your digestive system at 98.6 for 12 hours, that cooked tomato could be bad news compared to the raw one. About fruits, sure, you would want to avoid any poisonous ones, but other than that, which ones are bad? About quantities, is cooked food in the wrong quantity any better? David - you are right about B12. One option might be yeast extract which is really popular in Australia and New Zealand, and I think the UK. Or you could have a small quantity of meat, dairy or eggs once in a while to make sure you get it. Animals eat their own poop to naturally get the B12 produced in their lower intestines that way, but I don't think I want to see that on my Thanksgiving table . . . Scruffycat - this could be the ideal diet for denture wearers, even if only doing it partially, because juicers and high-powered blenders (like VitaMix) can make some awesome stuff that you don't have to chew, and pack in a lot of nutrients. Plus, there are always bananas and avocados! bookluvr315 - you have picked up on the big downside of this diet! Isn't it wierd that the only agricultural products not currently subsidized by the federal government are fruits and vegetables? Food for thought - I heard that you can sometimes ask the produce manager at your grocery store to put old produce in a bag out back, and then you can put it through a juicer. I'm sure a lot of grocery stores throw out old greens, and juiced greens are really good for you (and surprisingly addictive when you add some sweet fruit and lemon).
URGENT QUESTION are pellets the only solution?PLEASE AWNSER? I dont feed my green cheeked conure pellets but i do feed this Tropical Nutri Berries, Original Nutri Berries. EL Paso Nutri Berries, Sunny Orchard Nutri Berries, Garden Veggie Nutri Berries, Boiled Egg (smashed with shell on) Parsley,Wheat Grass, Flaxseed, Canary Grass, Seed Sprouts, Romain Lettuce(dont worry no iceburg) apple, banana, Shreded carrot, I also feed all varieties of the brand cooking diet for birds"Beak Apitete", Foster and Smith International bird feasts(pretty much the same thing as Beak Apitite) ,crushed walnuts and almonds. and regular cherrios(not honey nut but the original) I think this is a pretty complete diet, but you tell me.
Namaste: please tell me about green cooking herbs available in markets in India? I would like to know which herbs you can buy easily in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Calcutta... or some other places ? and, please: is it easy to get fresh bunches of such herbs in the green market, or should you grow them in your own kitchen garden ? In that case - if you should grow them - is it easy to obtain seeds ? I know there is coriander greens (dhania) curry leaves (kadi patta) fenugreek leaves (methi) dill (sowa) bay (tej patta) mint (pudina) basil (tulsi) but can you find also other herbs like chives (chhoti pyaz) thyme (banajwain) parsley (ajmood) rosemary (rusmari) and any others you might think of ?? thank you so much in advance, for your consideration xxx
Wood pigeon eating my bird seed... my husband wants to eat it...how? He wants to get it drunk!? I regularly feed the wild birds in my garden and because we live out of town I have a couple of large wood pigeons eating all my bird seed and keeping the smaller birds away. This particular bird is getting very fat and tasty on decent bird seed and my husband has decided he wants to cook it. He suggested soaking some raisins in rum and getting it plastered. Any ideas? Don't get me wrong, I love animals and I'm not a nasty person but we are carnivours and my husband, whilst being a bit of a caveman, would not want to make an animal suffer unintentionally. Right for starters I didn't know they were endangered and that killing them was illegal otherwise I wouldn't post this question and have people abusing me so Carla get a life and get off my case. I do not appreciate being abused on here. Anyway how do they end up in the shops then if you can't kill them? I'm not a nasty person, I'm not a freak and I'm not a sicko so don't bother lecturing me if you can't be pleasant and factual about it. Oh yeah and Carla? I've reported you for being abusive and swearing at me.
are pellets the only solution? I don’t feed pellets because Celia my Green Cheeked Conure refuses them so I feed this: Original Nutri-Berries Tropical Nutri Berries Sunny Orchard Nutri Berries El Paso Nutri Berries Garden Veggie Nutri Berries Spray Millet Unsalted Peanuts Canary Grass Flaxseed Kaytee’s Fiesta for Lovebirds and Conures Dried Fruits(especially papaya, pineapple, and banana) Wheat grass Seed sprouts Boiled egg (smashed with shell on) Cooked Poultry (call Celia a cannibal but she likes it) Cooked Fish Wheat Toast Cheerios (not honey nut but the original kind) Carrots Lettuce Corn Foster and Smith International Cooking Feasts for birds (type of cooking diet sold on Foster and Smith .com that includes dried veggies, beans, noodles, and spices that you can cook) and sometimes Beak Appetite too (the same thing) Fruit Bite Treats “Tropical Treasures” (a brand of papaya treat) I sprinkle all four varieties of Healthy Toppings (coconut raspberries, apple bits, carrots greens I think this will be a more tasty and natural way to give celia all her needed nutrients you tell me though

What do you think of my diet menu - Kinda long if you wanna read it I eat up to 5 or 6 times a day... usually three medium meals, such as breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with two to three small snacks in between: Breakfast: - Whole Grain Cereal (I looooooove Kashi Go Lean Crunch) with some almond milk and ground flax seeds and some fresh fruit like bananas... or - Salmon cakes with an egg white omelet topped with sauteed tomatoes and fresh avocado, with fresh spinach drizzled with lemon juice and a piece of whole grain toast with olive oil.... plus a berry smoothie (with green tea, fresh orange, goji berries, acai, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries... and sometimes blackberries) or - Oatmeal with Almond milk, almonds or walnuts, dried or fresh fruit (such as cranberries, raisins or diced apple - tastes like apple pie) with cinnamon and flax seed (for a healthy omega-3 fat) or - Whole grain pancakes with either blueberries or banana, walnut in them, or plain... topped with either honey, syrup (you have to look for natural maple syrup though... not corn syrup processed stuff) or fresh whipped cream sweetened with Equal (but Stevia's best) and fresh strawberries or strawberry or blueberry sauce... or bananas foster... Plus... you can make healthy chocolate chip pancakes using "carob" in place of chocolate chips (just learned that today and wanna try it).... Snacks (which I eat 2 to 3 times a day between my Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner): - Green Tea (I drink at least 3 to 4 cups every day - though I had to work my way up to it cause it could be intense at first as it's a natural diuretic - makes you pee) - Handful of Nuts with some Dried Fruit (tart cherries, "unsweetened" are very good for you) or - Yogurt Parfait (with either fresh or lightly sweetened berries or peaches with some granola/muesli - which I make myself - and ground flaxseed - for a healthy fat) or - Spirulina, Chlorella Smoothie (with both blue-green algaes, mango, apple, banana, pineapple, and kiwi all mixed in a blender... with fiber from apple skins and all) or - Chocolate-Chocolate-Chip Smoothie (with cacao powder - which is raw chocolate in its unprocessed state... basically unprocessed cocoa bean - some cocao nibs - which take on the consistency of chocolate chips in this smoothie - some almond milk, 1/2 a banana and some ground flax... all blended in a blender for a DELICIOUS creamy treat *lol*) or - Pumpkin Smoothie (with unsweetened canned pumpkin and some almond milk, sweetener, and pumpkin pie spice or just allspice, ground cloves, nut meg, cinnamon, etc.) or - Peanut Butter Smoothie (with all-natural, unsweetend Peanut Butter - I like "Smuckers" brand - some almond milk, sweetener and some fiber with "Psyllium husks" - I get my fiber from "DrNatura") or - A Wheatgrass shot (I have my own "Wheatgrass juicer" since you can't just use an ordinary juicer because the speed will destroy the natural enzymes in the wheatgrass) or - A "Green Smoothie" (which is nothing more than a smoothie that contains both fruits and vegetables together) or - Fresh Juice from my juicer (my favorite is carrot, apple, ginger... I love it!) or - Some whole grain pastries and baked goods (Wholefoods sells lots of whole grain stuff or I make them myself... I love healthy biscotti) Lunch: - A falafel (with tzatziki sauce) or - A wrap (with boneless chicken, lettuce, tomato, ranch dressing) or - Lentil Chili or - Sandwiches... like a turkey and swiss sandwich on whole grain bread with lettuce, tomato, and sprouts... with a little mayo... and some soup (which I make myself and freeze)... or I'll have a tuna sandwich with some chips or lemon soup (which is just some chicken soup with lemon juice in it - my favorite) or I make a Reuben sandwich (with pastrami and saurkraut with Russian dressing) or a chicken B.L.T or regular B.L.T sandwich.... or - I'll just have some Ramen noodles with Eggs (like an Egg Drop style soup) with some fresh Spinach cooked in.... or - A whole grain pizza (I buy my own whole wheat flour and yeast to make my own crust - I also would like to make my own mozzarela but haven't done it yet... you can add artichoke hearts, proscuitto, sundried tomatoes, parmesan, whatever toppings you like) Dinner: - A salad with grilled or breaded chicken (with spinach, carrot shreds, tomato, cucumber, avocado, cheddar cheese, turkey bacon, hard-boiled egg, whole grain croutons, and either ranch or honey mustard dressing)... or I'll have a buffalo wing salad (with boneless, grilled chicken tossed in hot sauce and served over a bed of romaine with celery and carrot shredds and blue cheese dressing)... or a shrimp or scallop salad (with fried, breaded shrimps or scallops, or both, served over a bed of mixed greens with a little bit of fresh lemon juice and olive oil and a side of tartar sauce with capers and a slice of whole grain baguette)... If I'm really eating a lot I'll also have a baked potatoe with a side of chili (with turkey meat or ground beef that has the fat rendered from it - just by boiling in salt water and draining) or - Whole grain pasta with a garden, chunky-style pasta sauce (which I make myself) and some whole grain Italian bread... with a small side salad of fresh spinach and a little olive oil and vinegar... or - Chinese Stirfry and Brown Rice or - Cod fish Salad (which is nothing more than some salted cod fish with yucca, steamed carrots, avocado, tomatoes, fresh spinach or romain lettuce, hard boiled eggs, and onion either sauteed in vinegar or raw with oil and vinegar and/or lemon juice to top) or a Salad Nicoise with some seared tuna... or - Anything else I'd like to cook.... Dessert: - Chocolate Bread Pudding (using cacao powder, flaxseed, whole grain bread, almond milk and eggs with sweetener) topped with fresh whipped cream sweetened with Equal and some fresh strawberries... or - Jello Parfaits with either Whipped Cream or Yogurt with fresh fruit And... on the weekends or whenever... I'll cheat with just a day or two of junk food or whatever the heck I want to eat... Usually if it's Chinese takeout I'll just order it with some brown rice.... (I cut and pasted this from one of my older posts... I used to eat like this but gained weight when I stopped eating, only ate one meal a day and it was mostly takeout) I know... *lol*... I said if you wanna read it...
Lol. OK, you have basic living stuff. Just not stuff for living a healthy lifestyle...
Help with my birds?!? I need help on breeding my Lovebirds. I have two Lovebirds. I got them from a garden centre in Somerset, England. They don't fight with each other and are always looking after each other and i think they would make a great breeding pair. Until recently they had a simple seed and vegetable diet, but now i give them cooked quinoa, mashed ahrd boiled egg, their seed mix, and what ever vegetables i have left over to put in too. Is this a suitable diet to feed them for breeding? They also have ground egg shell as i read this is full of calcium. What else can i give them? They are two years old, but they are not very tame. I read this is a good time to start them breeding. How big does their nest box have to be? Please answer this as i need to know this stuff before i start. Thanks so much for any info you can give. They have grit, and vegetables and fruit and everything the petstore recommended, not just this. they do have cuttlefish and a vitamin block in their cage. They also have lots of millet. I don't give them cooked veggies.

What is the strangest thing you have read in bible? women eat her son 2 Kings 6 (New International Version) 26 As the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried to him, "Help me, my lord the king!" 27 The king replied, "If the LORD does not help you, where can I get help for you? From the threshing floor? From the winepress?" 28 Then he asked her, "What's the matter?" She answered, "This woman said to me, 'Give up your son so we may eat him today, and tomorrow we'll eat my son.' 29 So we cooked my son and ate him. The next day I said to her, 'Give up your son so we may eat him,' but she had hidden him." smallest seed becomes the largest ( scientifically it is wrong) Mark 4 (New International Version) 30Again he said, "What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? 31It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest seed you plant in the ground. 32Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds of the air can perch in its shade." breasts are like towers .lol Song of Solomon 8 8 We have a young sister, and her breasts are not yet grown. What shall we do for our sister for the day she is spoken for? 10 I am a wall, and my breasts are like towers. Thus I have become in his eyes like one bringing contentment. there is one god & the Gospel was altered.
Buttercup Squash Stained my hands, is this safe to eat or normal? Hi All, My Aunt gave me a beautiful buttercup squash from her garden...It has been sitting on my dining room table for a week or two, so I finally decided to half it and steam cook it in the oven. I am making it for my 10 month old (that is why I am so concerned). When I halved it, it smelled really good and like a melon. But I seeded it and got some of the flesh on my hands and it stained my hand! Is that normal? I have never had that happen before. I just want to make sure it is safe for my little one to eat. Thanks.
